"Trading Amy" Awards Announced

Allegany Arc is proud to announce the two latest winners of 'Trading Amy", their newest recognition program.  Amy Black, Residential Director, volunteers each month to work one shift for a Direct Support Professional (DSP).  She does the work and the employee gets paid!

Every month, residential managers nominate one employee for this new award.  Criteria include no medication errors, no call-ins, and completing all trainings within 30 days of availability for the month they are nominated.  At that month's residential management meeting, all of the names are entered into a drawing.  The nominee who receives the award gets to take one day off during their winning month.

Amy Black said of this program, "Direct Support Professionals do tremendous work for people with special needs.  I am honored to work side-by-side with them and see first-hand the quality of care they give.  It gives me a different perspective and I find myself even more proud and appreciative of the work they do."

Kathy McNeill was the winner for February.  She has worked at Allegany Arc for over 12 years and has worked as a DSP for more than two.  Previous to working residentially, Kathy worked for Allegany Arc's Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Program for ten years.  Kathy enjoys her job at Allegany Arc and said, "What I like most is working with people and helping them become the best they can be."  She noted how honored she was to receive this award and said this recognition program serves as a great incentive for not only herself but her peers to continue giving the best quality care to people with special needs.

Other nominees for February included Dawn Billings, Boni Bliss, Diane Chamberlain, Crystal Craft, Kim Porter, and Mary Rogers.

Cindy Spinks was the winner for March.  She was recognized for timely completion of trainings, great attendance, filling extra shifts, and hard work.  Other nominees included Donielle Champlin, Julie Harrison, Joye Hornsby, Calvin Kemp, Krista Randall, Mike Smith, and Heidi White.

Allegany Arc congratulates Kathy and Cindy on this award.  Allegany Arc is an exciting, challenging and rewarding place to put your experience and analytical skills to work.  For more information on Allegany Arc or to see a current list of job opportunities, please visit our Employee Opportunity section on our website.
